#GoPurple 💜this last week of June for Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. My late Grandma had Alzheimer’s disease. Despite my not-so-great relationship with her, it was difficult to watch her mentally disappear slowly. I don’t wish Alzheimer’s upon anyone.
Brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s & other dementias, are often overlooked but it should concern all of us. According to @AlzAssociation, every 66 seconds someone will develop this incurable Alzheimer’s disease in the US — being the 6th leading cause of death. Today, an estimated 5.5 million people of all ages are living with Alzheimer’s in the US. You can learn more about Alzheimer’s & dementia at www.alz.org.
These statistics are worrisome but we can change that by learning & sharing our knowledge as well as funding research by donating to nonprofit organizations like Alzheimer’s Association. Currently, an anonymous family foundation has generously pledged to sponsor $50,000 matching donations until 6/30. Join me in making a difference by kindly donating today at www.bit.ly/endalzheimers2017.
#MondayMotivation: Do good every day.
I recently re-downloaded the @CharityMiles app after a 3 year hiatus (I kept forgetting to sign-in 🙈). This week I am challenging myself to 🏃🏻♀️at least 5 miles a day to raise proceeds for @AlzAssociation Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. Follow me on IG stories to stay updated with my progress. Also, view my post from earlier today to find out how you can match your #AlzheimersAssociation donation this week – link in bio. #EndAlz#FrancesGivesBack
